In the present day of Australia, Priests serve as spiritual leaders, helping people overcome great earthly obstacles and problems. They believe in “submission” to God and are obligated to show mercy to those in need. They provide food, shelter and emotional help. Through these acts of mercy people realize that although they cannot perform the task on by themselves, they can seek help from priests.

In the movie Meet The Parents, Michael Fassbender portrays David Collier, a Priest who has been summoned back to active duty following saving the lives of his fellow teammates during a school shooting. He soon realizes that there are many things he has to do at his church before he is able to return to his regular duties. Six years ago it was when he witnessed the death of his brother. He immediately wants to stop this crime. But, he is aware that vampires pose a greater threat to his life than criminals. Faced with a series of personal crises and issues, he’s determined to continue on his mission even when it means he has to turn against certain of his followers.

In the novel Neverwhere the author Steve Berry takes his readers into the strange and wonderful region of Australia known as Neverland. Following the events of the previous novel, the society is faced with the threat of vampires and their ability prey on the weak. David is no longer a hero for his priestly acquaintances, but he has become the one who is hunted. The desperate priest joins forces with a reluctant clerk at an inn to discover the reason why vampires chose Neverland to be their final resting place.

The plot of this novel is unique, however, the movie version follows some basic steps. The story begins with a series sketches that reveal the spiritual roots of all vampires. They reveal how the vampire feels about human life, and the ways they safeguard it. While most of the characters are human, some are involved in unsavory activities. However, this doesn’t detract from the message of hope or the belief that there are things that are more powerful than man that can bring peace into the world and keep evil things from the human race.

Similar to the book series, the film Neverwhere faithfully follows the plot of priest characters’ struggles to defeat evil beings of all shapes and sizes. The story structure is different, however the message of hope and triumph over evil is evident throughout. The film uses well-known scenes from other horror films in which the characters battle vampires. In the adaptation to the movie, they even use certain movie monsters like the Vanquishtles. However, other than the usual monster movie elements, Neverwhere added some innovative elements which made the movie even more fascinating to watch.

Priest is a great vampire movie screen gem because of the amazing acting performances by Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Aniston. Kingsley portrays an ardent zealot who turns a devoted follower of Dracula. Dracula. He embarks on a quest to fight evil before he turns into a vampire. Jennifer Aniston plays a young girl who falls in love with a vampire in the movie. The film is a romantic relationship between the two characters, but it also has plenty of humor and a broader theme of love & faith.

Neverwhere is in a way similar to the Twilight Saga. There are a bunch of vamps that are trying to take over the world and decimate humanity. Fatherolas and Dr. Van Helsing, the principal characters in the novel and movie, team up to stop the vamps from destroying the world. The film is set in London, during a time when Van Helsing must deal with the aplethora of vampire attacks happening throughout the city. Other characters worth watching include Van Damme’s character as well as Van Helsing’s father.
